Pat Murphy

Chair

Roles & Responsibilities:  Chair, Finance Committee Chair, Preserve our Reserve (POR) Media Contact, Emergency Committee, Smiths Charity.

Pat has been a member of the Parish Council since 1999 – elected Chairman in 2011. He worked as a senior civil servant with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food for 30 years and has lived in Elstead since 1982. He is President of Elstead CC and Chairman to Elstead Recreational Trust, which manages the Elstead Pavilion.

Jane Jacobs

Vice CHAIR

Roles & Responsibilities:  Planning Committee (Chair), Neighbourhood Plan Team (Chair), Preserve our Reserve (POR), Website.

Jane grew up in London and worked for a Merchant Bank in the City.  She has lived in Elstead since 2000, running a local livery yard until she ‘gave up horses’ in 2015.  She became a Member of the Parish Council in 2012 and counts cycling and walking on our incredible commons amongst her hobbies.

James Collis

Roles & Responsibilities: Planning Committee,  

James has lived in Elstead for 12 years having fallen in love with a house and then discovered the amazing village and community.   He works in scale-up tech companies leading Presales functions, an avid motorcyclist he can also be found whenever possible on the commons walking and cycling.

Leif Davidsen

Roles & Responsibilities:  Planning Committee, Finance Committee, Woolfords Lane Cemetery, Website.

Leif grew up in Buckinghamshire, and moved to Elstead with his family in 2005. He works as a Product Manager at IBM’s Software Development Laboratory outside Winchester responsible for part of the Messaging Portfolio. He joined the Parish Council in 2011, and regularly walks his dogs on the local commons.

Andy Goundry

Roles & Responsibilities:  Planning Committee, 

Andy grew up in Durham, moving to Elstead in 1996 to join vehicle manufacturer Dennis, eventually retiring as Plant Director of their Guildford business. Since retiring he has continued his engineering interests, volunteering at the Rural Life Living Museum where he helps look after the Dennis historic vehicle collection, and also at the Watercress Line.

Andy Hampshire

Roles & Responsibilities: Planning Committee, 

Andy was born and grew up in Godalming, and moved to Elstead in 2020. He has worked in the Software industry for 40 years and currently works in a Technical pre sales role for a major US software company. He is also a resident director of the Water Meadow Place estate. He is new to the parish council.

Joan Holroyd

Roles & Responsibilities:  Planning Committee, 

Joan grew up in Surrey and has lived with her family in Elstead since 1973.  She is a registered General Nurse and University Lecturer in Health and Medical Sciences.  She is a volunteer for Phyliss Tuckwell and a Public Governor (Waverley) at the Royal Surrey Hospital.  Joan looks after the 3 Defibrillators in the Village and voluntary teaches First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Parish Council.

Martyn Lass

Roles & Responsibilities: Planning Committee, 

 

Martyn grew up in Worplesdon and moved to Elstead with his family in 1987. He is an “almost retired” Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer, and has worked on major construction projects in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. He was Elstead Scout Group Chairman for many years and is still currently involved in organising the Elstead Marathon.  Martyn is also a Natural England volunteer working on the National Nature Reserve.

I have lived in Elstead since 2006 when my wife Linda and I moved from Cheshire to be closer to family. I worked in the aviation industry for 50 years, initially as a technician and then as a pilot. I have been a member of the Thursday Natural England volunteer team for some years and I am also a volunteer member of the track maintenance team at the Watercress Railway.

Clerk

Roles & Responsibilities:  Parish Clerk and RFO.

 

Jules moved to Elstead in 2006 to escape city life. Having previously worked as a Senior Account Manager in the fragrance industry for P&G and Wella, Jules became Clerk to the Parish Council in 2016. Jules loves the variety that the role brings and professionally clerks for a number of other local organisations. In her spare time Jules provides admin support for Elstead junior cricket club and enjoys walking and cycling across the beautiful commons.
